Take refuge in the shadow of God’s wings.
So often I take refuge in things I should not. Like working 80 hour weeks. Perfectionism. Distractions like video games and aimless youtube videos. Cooking. Running. My cell phone. Myself and my desires rather than God and others. If I were to take refuge in God, everything else would fall into place.
In your light we see light.
This is what CS Lewis meant when he said, “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” C. S. Lewis.
God is light. In him there is no darkness at all. Without light there’s no color only dark. In God’s light we see everything differently! Everything is a blessing a gift from God’s hand. Life springs from Him, just as the sun gives light to every plant. God gives light and life to everything. In God’s light we see the joy and the light around us. Without God life is temporal and logically one should simply focus on self and family rather than God and others. But with God life is eternal and people matter more. Life is light- my yoke is easy and my burden light. As I’m no longer the center of my universe. God is. That changes everything!
